Superintendent Search Information
Dear Wayne Township Public Schools Community:
As you may be aware, we are beginning the critical process of selecting a new superintendent for our district, and the Board of Education wants to ensure that the voices of our students, parents, staff, and community members are heard. The selection of a new superintendent is one of the most significant responsibilities we, as a Board of Education, have, and we are committed to making this a transparent, inclusive, and community-driven process.
We invite you to become actively involved by sharing your thoughts, concerns and hopes for the future of our school district. Your input will help guide us in identifying the qualities and qualifications we seek in our next leader, as well as the vision we all want to build together for the success of our students.
Here are some of the ways you can get involved:
Surveys: An online survey is a great way to start the process. It will be available for all stakeholders to share their perspectives on the qualities and attributes they believe are most important for our next superintendent. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking HERE.
Parents of K-8: We encourage you to work with your child to complete this Student Survey (K-8 parents should submit answers after discussing the questions with their children):
Parents of High School Students: We will be asking high school students to share their thoughts with us as well. They will be given time in school to complete a short survey asking their thoughts on our new leader.
Community Forums and Listening Sessions: We will host a series of forums where you can speak directly to the search consultants and board members and provide feedback. Click HERE for more information and to RSVP. (Click HERE for more information on the Wayne SEPAG/Wayne SPA session.)
Updates: The school district included a Superintendent Search tab on our website, and that is your easy one-click way to receive news and information about the search. The district newsletter will also include news about the search process.
We are dedicated to ensuring that our new superintendent deeply understands our community’s values, challenges, and aspirations. We can help shape a strong future for our students and district.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our schools. We look forward to hearing from you and working together throughout this process.
Sincerely,
Donald Pavlak, Jr.
President
Note: All responses are confidential and will be used to create a leadership profile for our search. The deadline to complete the surveys is Saturday, January 25th.

It's illegal to pass a stopped school bus with its stop sign arm extended and red lights flashing!
If you are driving near a school bus, its red lights are flashing, and its stop arm is enacted, STOP! Those lights and stop arms signify children are getting on or off the bus and could be crossing the street. CLICK HERE to read more.

The LLD program at Randall Carter celebrated its second annual Special Person's Day on Friday, January 10, 2025. This cherished event invited students from Mrs. Messina’s and Mrs. VanNess’s classrooms to share a memorable day at school with their special guests.
The day began with excitement as students and their guests took pictures together upon arrival, capturing the joy of this special occasion. Following the photo session, Mrs. Messina read the delightful story, Pinkalicious and the Snow Globe. In this tale, Pinkalicious receives a magical snow globe featuring a picture of her family inside—a perfect segue to the next activity.
Inspired by the story, students and their guests collaborated to create their very own snow globes. The room buzzed with creative energy as participants cut, glued, and sprinkled glitter, crafting unique keepsakes. The highlight of each snow globe was a picture of the student and their guest, making it a heartfelt memento of their time together.
To wrap up the day, everyone joined in a lively movement activity, “I Lived in a Snow Globe.” The room came alive with laughter and motion as participants jumped, shook, clapped, and wiggled, imagining themselves inside their very own snow globes.
Love and laughter filled the air throughout this special day, strengthening the bonds between students and their guests. This heartfelt tradition continues to be a highlight of the year, and we look forward to many more moments of joy and connection in the years to come.
