Five talented students, senior Brsna Al-Kardali, junior Casper Cagara, senior Justin McDougald, senior Nicholas Hayeck, and senior Sebastian Lopez proudly represented Wayne Valley High School at the 2025 ProStart Invitational Culinary Competition, showcasing their exceptional skills, teamwork, and passion for the culinary arts. Their dedication and hard work was evident as they impressed judges with their creativity, precision, and professionalism. This was Valley's first time competing at the ProStart Invitational Culinary Competition. Their remarkable performance was a testament to their commitment to excellence in the kitchen.
Adding to the celebration, Chef Prindilus-DaCosta was honored with the prestigious 2025 NJ ProStart Educator of Excellence Award, recognizing their outstanding leadership and dedication to culinary education. This achievement reflects the incredible impact they have on their students, inspiring the next generation of Culinary professionals. Congratulations to the entire team on their well-deserved success! Go Valley!
Cassie Conklin, a 5th grader at James Fallon Elementary School, recently achieved recognition as a winner in a national writing contest hosted by Young Writers USA. The Ridiculous Writers contest focused on selection of an adjective or verb and noun at random, which resulted in some super creations. As a winner, she was honored with a "Talent for Writing" award, and her story "Bill The Burping, Bouncing Basketball" was selected for publication.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative Teens in the United States. This year Valley students on all four levels, as well as Photo Club members, entered into the contest. In total the program received 87 awards which is more than triple the awards received last year! Students from Ms. Pritchard and Mz. Deanโs classes were awarded 21 Gold Keys, 23 Silver Keys and 43 Honorable Mentions. The Gold Key recipients automatically advanced to the national level and the medalists will be announced on March 26.

5th graders at John F Kennedy Elementary School are encouraged to play and interact with different classmates from other classes during recess with the goal of building positive relationships across different groups and classrooms. The students loved Mix It Up recess and have earned it for future indoor days!
Students in Mrs. Gebbia and Mrs. Genna's 6th grade science classes at Schuyler-Colfax Middle School worked on dominant and recessive genes with spiders. 3D print models and illustrations were created to showcase their unique outcomes.
National Read Across America week was celebrated throughout the District. This week is a nationwide effort to celebrate reading and reinforce the importance of reading.
Dr. Mark Toback, Superintendent of Wayne Township Public Schools picked We Don't Eat Our Classmates! to read aloud to Wayne students.
Assistant Superintendent of Wayne Township Public Schools, Dr. Lauren Kazmark, visited and read her copy ofThe Day the Crayons Quit.
The 3rd annual Anthony Wayne Middle School versus George Washington Middle School Unified Basketball Game was played! Congrats to all the players for another outstanding game and always showing kindness and compassion towards one another.
