In support of Read Across America, Theunis Dey 5th graders challenged the teachers in Tornado Trivia. It was a hard fought contest with topics on reading that included Characters, Book Titles, Authors, Genres, and more. The 5th graders did very well, however, the tenacity of our teachers could not be bested. Theunis Dey Teachers for the win!

The George Washington Middle School Drama Club transported audiences to the magical city of Agrabah with their production of "Aladdin, Jr." this past weekend. The show was a resounding success, with three sold-out performances showcasing the incredible singing, dancing, and acting talents of these hardworking students.
The audience was captivated by the stellar performances of Ryan Wyatt (7th grade) as Aladdin, Zoee Padilla (8th grade) as Jasmine, David Gilgur (7th grade) as the Genie, Justin Bongiovanni (8th Grade) as Jafar and the 120 amazing students in the cast and crew who danced and sang their hearts out. From dazzling choreographed musical numbers to a breathtaking magic carpet ride, the cast and crew delivered a truly unforgettable experience and brought the beloved story to life in a spectacular way.
Mrs. Laura Medley (GW Choir Director) directed, choreographed, and produced the entire musical while Mrs. Alyssa Masella (GW Science Teacher) served as the Stage Manager/ Creative Director, ensuring everything ran smoothly behind the scenes with sets, lights and props. Mr. Nick Vigiletti (GW Band Director) led the technical team as Tech/Sound Director and WVHS Student Stage Manager Katie Pricken played a key role in coordinating the production behind the scenes as well.
Congratulations to the entire cast, crew, and production team for an amazing show!

Last month, students from the Wayne Valley High School Adventure Leadership Program took a trip to the NJ Rock Gym in Fairfield. The Adventure Leaders, or Alps leader as they are referred to, are upperclassmen who represent the core values of Project Adventure (Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Kindness). These ALPs leaders spend their time working with our underclassmen in their Project Adventure classes, teaching them the importance of encouragement while supporting their classmates. Half the day was spent at the NJ Rock Gym, where our ALPs leaders had the opportunity to use their skills amongst themselves in a setting that was a new experience for most of them.
