WHHS Athlete of September - David Van Hook |
Wayne Hills junior David Van Hook is turning heads with his all-around performance on the football field this fall, earning him recognition as the first nominated TAPinto Wayne’s Athlete of the Month for this school year.
In just five games, Van Hook has made his presence felt in all three phases of the game. On offense, he’s caught 25 passes for 360 yards and eight touchdowns, added two carries for 17 yards, and scored twice on special teams with three punt returns for 100 yards. He’s also chipped in 93 yards on three kick returns. Defensively, Van Hook has recorded 11 tackles, one tackle for loss, six pass breakups, and even contributed on special teams with three punts averaging 31 yards. WVHS Athlete of September - Danny Ferrauilo |
Wayne Valley senior quarterback Danny Ferrauilo is off to a hot start this fall, showing both leadership and playmaking ability that has earned him recognition as TAPinto Wayne’s Athlete of the Month for September.
Ferrauilo threw for more than 2,200 yards last season, and through five games this year he has already piled up 1,124 passing yards. He’s completing 72% of his throws and has tossed 10 touchdowns against three interceptions, putting him on pace for another big year.. WHHS Athlete of October - Tyler Winston |
This fall, when the Wayne Hills boys soccer team needed a lift, senior captain Tyler Winston confidently answered. He embraced a position-change mid-season, rose to the occasion, and led his team to a county championship. His impact reached beyond the scoreboard, earning him the honor of Wayne Hills High School’s Athlete of the Month for October.
Winston’s October wasn’t just productive, it was pivotal to his team’s success in the final stretch of the regular season, and it all came down to a strategic adjustment. Hills Boys Soccer Coach Gregg Rehberger switched Winston from defense to offense and the move proved to be literally game-changing.
The Athlete of the Month accepted the challenge and come mid-October in a game against Paramus, he scored his first goal of the season, tying the game, and then added an assist to help his team secure a come-from-behind win.
From that point on, he went on a tear, scoring against Clifton, Fair Lawn and Passaic, becoming a driving force in Wayne Hills’ postseason push.
Each game, each moment, he seemed to rise a little higher.

WVHS Athlete of October - Madison Trautz |
It’s only fitting that Wayne Valley’s October Athlete of the Month would inspire a theme of fear. After all, we just had Halloween. And on the volleyball court, few sights are more frightening for opponents than seeing the ball set to Valley freshman outside hitter Madison Trautz, the Killer of Passaic County.
As the ball arcs upward toward her, Trautz explodes into motion — a step and a bound upward, her powerful legs springing her high into the air as her right arm, that killing right arm, whips back…
At that moment, everyone knows what’s coming.
All eyes are on Trautz as her face rises higher above the net. On it, they see a look of fierce concentration — the kind of focus that hints at a killer instinct.
For opponents, the determination they wear on their faces early in the game begins to fade under the onslaught of kills that Trautz rains down on them all match long. By the final points, one can imagine the dread of having to rise up once again to try and stop that relentlessly powerful spike.

WHHS Athlete of November - Olivia Keenan |
Wayne Hills goalkeeper Olivia Keenan didn’t just anchor the Patriots’ defense this fall — she powered one of the best seasons in program history. A junior with a reputation for fearlessness in the box and poise under pressure, Keenan delivered big saves in even bigger moments, helping Hills win both the Big North Independence League title and the Passaic County Tournament championship.
Over 20 games, she recorded seven shutouts, allowed just 25 goals, and made 115 saves — averaging six per match. She was repeatedly recognized across the state, earning nominations for Defensive MVP and North Jersey Soccer Player of the Week four times before ultimately winning the regional honor on October 27. She was also named Defensive MVP of her conference, First Team All-League, First Team All-County, and was highlighted by NJ.com as one of the top girls soccer juniors in New Jersey.
Her consistency stood out, but her clutch performances defined her season.

WVHS Athlete of November-Sebastian Sianozecki |
This fall, when the Wayne Valley boys soccer team needed stability and leadership, senior goalkeeper Sebastian Sianozecki delivered every time. His presence in net anchored the Indians throughout another deep postseason run and earned him recognition as Wayne Valley High School’s Athlete of the Month. Once again to try and stop that relentlessly powerful spike.
Sianozecki put together one of the strongest seasons in program history. The senior finished the year with 165 saves, a 9.17 saves-per-game average, and most notably, the most saves ever recorded by a Wayne Valley goalkeeper. His consistency helped guide Valley to the semifinals of both the Passaic County Tournament and the NJSIAA State Tournament, cementing him as one of the defining players of this year’s campaign.
His impact wasn’t limited to numbers. Sianozecki earned First Team All-County and First Team All-League honors, with state level recognition still pending. Throughout the season, he repeatedly came up big in pressure moments, had incredible save performances, crucial late stops, and the kind of steady leadership that lifts a defense.
