JFK's First Annual Day of Service in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

💙On Friday, January 16th, JFK proudly hosted our First Annual JFK Day of Service, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and it was nothing short of incredible!!💙 Our students and teachers poured their hearts (and amazing ideas) into meaningful projects that supported 13 different organizations, truly living out Dr. King’s message of service and compassion.💙

🫶A huge thank you to our wonderful PTO for helping fund these projects, and to our teachers and students for their creativity, dedication, and enthusiasm. Thank you all for helping make this vision a reality.🫶

💙🐾I am beyond proud of our JFK Family! This day reflected the strength of kindness, the power of teamwork, and the heart of our community. 🐾💙

🎥 Special shout out to Mrs. Shea…thank you for capturing every moment of this day, and creating this video, we know it was not easy!

A Passport to Community: Fallon Around the World 🌎

On the evening of Tuesday, February 3rd, the Fallon school community came together for an extraordinary celebration of heritage and harmony. "Fallon Around the World" transformed the gym into a global village, featuring 35 participating families representing 20 different countries. The vibrant displays and elegant setups offered a window into the rich diversity that defines our district.

The highlight of the night was watching the young Fallon explorers navigate the event with their Global Passports. Students eagerly moved from station to station, collecting stamps from various nations while engaging with their peers’ traditions. This hands-on learning experience even inspired some of the most hesitant eaters to step outside their comfort zones, as students sampled traditional dishes from around the globe.

Beyond the food and the festivities, the true success of the evening lay in the connections made. Parents shared that the event provided a meaningful space to feel seen, fostering a sense of belonging that turned Fallon school into one big family. This event allowed the students to gain a better understanding of what the rest of the world looks like while celebrating the heritage of their own classmates.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the families who shared their cultures so generously and the staff whose hard work made this memorable evening possible. It was truly a night where the Fallon community felt more connected than ever.

Dance Club Shines at Ryerson!

The Ryerson Dance Club, also known as the Husketeers, has been busy moving, grooving, and leading the way! Students worked together to choreograph an energetic dance routine to The 7 Habits Song from Leader in Me, and they proudly performed it at a recent Husky Pack Huddle. Their performance showed not only great rhythm, but also confidence, teamwork, and leadership.

Dance Club is a place where students have fun, express themselves, and collaborate with one another in a positive and creative environment. Whether they’re practicing steps, sharing ideas, or cheering each other on, the Husketeers truly embody what it means to be proactive, work together, and begin with the end in mind. Way to go, Husketeers—you made Ryerson proud! 🐾💃🕺

Two Wayne Valley Artists Selected for Competitive Fresh Perspectives Exhibit

The Morris Museum in Morristown, New Jersey, continues its tradition of celebrating exceptional young artists through its highly competitive Fresh Perspectives exhibition. This prestigious annual competition showcases the finest artwork from high school students  across the state, providing a platform for emerging talent to gain well-deserved recognition.
This year’s exhibition was particularly competitive, with over 240 student submissions from  33 New Jersey high schools. Among the talented young artists, only 50 had their artwork  chosen for display, highlighting their artistic excellence, creativity, and dedication. Notably, two students from Wayne Valley High School, Hana Kaseem and Alex Katz, received this distinguished honor.

The Fresh Perspectives exhibition will be on display at the Morris Museum from March 6 – May 10, allowing visitors to witness the incredible artistry of New Jersey’s high  school students. We encourage everyone to visit and support these young artists as they  embark on their creative journeys.

Congratulations to Hana Kaseem and Alex Katz on this outstanding achievement!

Hearts in Action: Ryerson Students Spread Love Across the Community

Ryerson students recently put kindness into action by creating handmade Valentine’s Day cards and collecting thoughtful donations for a local senior living facility. Students gathered items such as costume jewelry, chocolates, and small trinkets to brighten the residents’ day and remind them they are loved and remembered.

This heartwarming project was inspired by Ryerson’s Leader in Me program, which encourages students to think beyond themselves and give back to their community. When organizing school collections, Ryerson strives to focus on opportunities that create meaningful impact without placing additional financial strain on families. Many families supported their children by helping them design and assemble their special gifts, making the experience even more memorable and personal.

Centered around the motto, “Spreading Love and Kindness,” Ryerson students demonstrated that even small acts of generosity can make a big difference. We are proud of our students for leading with their hearts and helping to spread joy throughout the Wayne community!
